I'm available now to work with customers in the North West of England, at your own venue. I use tournament-quality 1G balls, and I also have a spotted cue ball which is useful in a coaching setting to visualise spin.
For juniors*, beginners and intermediate players, I suggest we follow the WPBSA White to Black coaching framework (even for experienced players, the blue, pink and black standards are really tough!). For experienced players who have bigger ambitions in the game, I have created an Elite level package that goes much further.
For those booking a series of lessons, we can, with your agreement of course, study your technique using video, with in-depth analysis using kinematics software. We will discuss your snooker goals and ambitions, identify specific areas to focus on, and agree on targets to work towards. I will show you how to record meaningful data throughout all your practice sessions, and as our partnership builds, you will receive regular reports confirming your current performance levels and demonstrating your improvement.
* With juniors (u18s), a parent or responsible adult must be present throughout.
As a new coach, I'm able to offer some introductory prices for coaching at your club. Note these don't cover costs for the table, which you will also be responsible for:
One-off 1 hour lesson: £25 for adults, £20 for juniors under 18. We'll work together to assess your current level and work on some practice drills that will help you improve.
Cueology Coaching Package: An initial 1½ hr lesson to include video and kinematic analysis, followed by four 1-hr lessons, ideally over the following four weeks: £100 for adults, £80 for u18s.
Under the coaching package, further lessons can of course be added on. If you book further lessons before our arrangement ends, I guarantee the price will stay the same until at least the following April.
We will use tournament-quality 1G balls in all lessons. These balls are manufactured within a tolerance of 1 gram. Using balls that are a consistent weight is crucial to understanding how they react on contact.
I'm based in Blackburn With Darwen, in Lancashire, UK. For bookings much beyond Blackburn or Darwen, a fair and appropriate additional up-front charge will be made to cover my travelling time and expenses. I don't aim to profit from this, I'm simply looking to cover my additional costs for travelling further afield. Please get in touch for a sensible quote.
Important: If you don't have private facilities then please check first with your venue that they are happy for coaching to take place on their premises, and note we need guaranteed time on the table for the full lesson, preferably when your venue is not busy, and with enough space around the table for video recording where this is included.
Please note that I will not reimburse any pre-incurred costs should a lesson be cancelled or terminated part-way through.
